Eagles QB Jalen Hurts looks forward at Super Bowl LIX victory parade: ‘The next pursuit begins’

On the iconic steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory parade reached its moving finale on Friday afternoon. After a jubilant bus ride through the City of Brotherly Love, the celebration culminated at one of Philly’s most legendary landmarks.

Standing at the podium, Super Bowl LIX MVP Jalen Hurts soaked in the moment as he proudly held his first Lombardi Trophy. Surrounded by a sea of Eagles fans and echoing “MVP” chants, he expressed heartfelt gratitude:

“We can’t do it without you. We appreciate you; we love you,” he declared. Reflecting on his journey, Hurts added, “I promised myself I wouldn’t step onto these Rocky Steps until I won a championship. And now, here we are.”

Just five days after a commanding victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans, the Eagles gathered to celebrate their second Super Bowl triumph, avenging a loss on this very stage two years ago. Hurts acknowledged the tough road—an arduous end to the 2023 season and a rocky 2-2 start this year—but emphasized that their unyielding fight against adversity brought them here.

“I know this team has battled through so much, faced endless scrutiny, and endured countless challenges,” he said. “But one thing is clear about this city—we fight. Success isn’t built on approval; it’s built on endurance and strength. In Philly, we never quit. Thank you for standing with us.”

With unwavering determination, Hurts looked to the future: “The next pursuit begins now. Go Birds!”

Other Highlights from the Eagles’ Victory Parade Speeches:

Eagles owner and CEO Jeffrey Lurie set the tone by describing the moment as surreal:
“There are no friggin words to describe delivering a world championship to our incredible fan base. There’s just nothing that compares. Today, on Valentine’s Day, we celebrate the love affair between this team and Eagles fans everywhere.”

Head coach Nick Sirianni recalled a pivotal December moment when he reminded the team that their road to the Super Bowl had to begin at home.
“We had three out of the last four games at home, practicing outdoors every day and at the stadium every few days. I told the team, ‘To win the Super Bowl, we need to dominate at Lincoln Financial in front of the best fans in the world.’ And we made it happen.”

Despite a visible head injury during the parade, general manager Howie Roseman remained undeterred, proclaiming,
“I bleed for this city! Go Eagles! Our players and staff have done an unbelievable job. We are two-time world champs, and we’re coming back stronger. Go birds!”

Wide receiver A.J. Brown added a touch of humor by channeling Rocky Balboa, dismissing critics who claim he’s just a stats-focused diva:
“You can get all that wrong about me, but one thing’s for sure—I’m a f—— champion!”

Star running back Saquon Barkley took a moment to thank his team and the fans for a great year, as the crowd erupted with chants of “Thank you Giants”—a nod to the NFC East rival that once let him go in free agency.

Offensive tackle Jordan Mailata, instead of giving a speech, led the crowd in a spirited rendition of Queen’s “We Are the Champions,” showcasing his well-known vocal chops.

Guard Landon Dickerson expressed his gratitude for Philly’s unwavering support, saying,
“Every Sunday, Monday, Thursday—I haven’t played an away game in my entire career because of you guys!”

Closing out the speeches, defensive end Brandon Graham, who made a stunning comeback from a torn triceps injury in what could be his final NFL season, thanked Philadelphia for being his home.
“I’ve grown up here—joined the team at 21 and now, at 37, I’m winning my second Super Bowl. We’re going to stay gritty and work hard. I’ll always be a part of Philly, and I’m so thankful to have been here.”

These heartfelt words captured not only the passion and resilience of the team but also the deep bond between the players and the city of Philadelphia.
